Check out photos from S + B’s moody, editorial, and elegant wedding at the Madison Club below. We are so lucky to have such an absolutely gorgeous venue like the Madison Club in downtown Madison. The venue has so many unique rooms with colorful wallpaper. The bride and bridesmaids got ready in the Mendota Room and the groom and groomsmen got ready in the library. The bride and groom did their first look out in front of the building followed by couples portraits at the Wisconsin State Capitol.
The couple had their ceremony in the black butterfly fireplace room with a string quartet playing followed by cocktail hour. The dinner and dancing reception was in the basement atrium with its stunning glass ceiling and sparkling chandeliers. Guests dined by candlelight, and there were passed espresso martinis after dinner.
All of the details from this day were so gorgeous. The couple had a large wedding party, the bridesmaids wore black bridesmaids dresses and had small white calla lily bouquets with pearl details. I especially also love the three tired Lambeth cake. A Lambeth cake is a vintage Victorian-style cake with elaborate piping featuring intricate scrolls and swags which has been en vogue for weddings recently. I am obsessed with this unique bridal bag bouquet or bridal bouquet purse!
We also created some stunning formally posed wedding party and family photos, think “Downton Abbey” or “drawing room” style portraits with people both sitting and standing in a grand interior setting with elegant postures. I’m a huge fan of these historically vintage Victorian and Edwardian styling details for wedding trends. Oh and I haven’t even gushed about how gorgeous the bride’s dress is. Her dress had a basque waist with off the shoulder sleeves. She also had a dress change for the dancing part of the reception that was elegant and sparkly with gloves.
