Sara + Adam were scheduled to have their big wedding in August 2020, but due to COVID-19 they rolled with the punches and changed up their plans and instead had a socially distant sunrise elopement slash intimate outdoor wedding in Madison, Wisconsin in July with their parents, a harpist, the officiant, and me at Cherokee Park with the Yahara River as a backdrop. They asked each of their moms to sign as the witnesses on the marriage license, which was so precious. (Fun fact: a legal wedding ceremony in Wisconsin only requires 5 people present, including the couple, the officiant, and two witnesses.)
Scroll to check out photos from their teeny tiny sunrise intimate wedding ceremony, family photos in masks, and lovely tilt shift and double exposure bride and groom portraits with summer wildflowers as the backdrop.
I highly recommend to any couples trying to plan a wedding for 2021 to consider eloping (which in this day and age means something totally different than it used to - meaning now it can be ANYTHING YOUR HEART DESIRES) or having a small intimate outdoor wedding or micro wedding now and planning for a big reception in the future. I’m happy to be a resource for anyone with questions about planning a wedding in this “new era”.
