You wouldn't know it by the look of these beautifully warm and sunny photos from Jenny and Aaron's wedding day, but the weather on this late October "fall" day at Devil's Lake State Park in Southern Wisconsin was absolutely crazy! It was insanely windy and cold and there was even a freak snowstorm in the morning. It was so windy that it made walking difficult, which is ridiculous and challenging for an outdoor wedding, and the strong wind was bone chilling.
Aside from the weather, one of the other exciting things about Jenny and Aaron's wedding day was the cake.
I definitely eat a lot of wedding cake during wedding season and Jenny and Aaron's cake was one of THE TASTIEST wedding cakes I've ever had. Way to go, guys! It's funny that the highlight of my day was totally the wedding cake (only kind of kidding). These two were so sweet during their cake cutting and did NOT shove cake all over each other's faces. How nice of them!
I've been seeing quite the trend lately for small bridal parties and Jenny and Aaron's day was no exception. Jenny had her twin sister as Maid of Honor and Aaron had his good friend as the Best Man, and that was that! I think these small bridal parties, and even small weddings, makes the day really intimate in order to spend quality time with loved ones and friends while still throwing a fun and memorable party. Despite the weird weather, it was very clear to see the love that Jenny and Aaron had for each other and their toddler daughter, and from inside the reception venue with a fire going in the hearth it was a beautifully sunny afternoon which turned into a lovely evening with a gorgeous sunset at the lake.
